COMMISSIONS.

Inspiration

This is the initial phase of a project where the client and artist first begin to establish what is desired, where it is going to be placed, and when it will be needed. It is also a good time to discuss what it might cost. Critical information, such as color scheme and subject matter are also discussed to determine what the final piece may look like.

Collaboration

This portion of the process revolves around the artist absorbing all of the input provided by the client and then beginning the process of laying out the piece that will ultimately be produced. The image shown is an example of the product of this collaborative phase. The artist lays out an example of the piece including dimensions and the colors which is then presented to the client as the intended piece. The client may have specific directions, such as I want more of a specific color, or it is too dark, or it needs to be bigger... at which point, the artist will revise the proof image(s) and re-engage with the client until the process is complete and a final proof has been approved.

Perspiration
Once a proof has been approved, now begins the part of the process where the artist must now execute on all the details and imagery approved in the proof. The artist will now collaborate with other trades and oversee their work where needed, or the artist will perform the work independently.  The work proceeds until, ultimately, a final version is presented to the client that represents a fully executed verson of the vision originally conceived, collaboratively formed, and then independently acted upon.
